Shwa Keirstead

Odd Society is excited about working with local Commercial Drive area artist, Shwa Keirsted. We asked Shwa to do a painting of our stills. We are also using one of his existing paintings called Cornelius for our vodka label. His drawings and paintings seem like a perfect fit for our distillery.

Shwa describes his work this way:

Masses of mashed entities, a twisted outlook on modern life and surrealism style illustrations are my contribution to the world of art. Influenced greatly by cartoon culture, a draw to antique aged textures and traditional styles of line work.

My artwork is a natural flow of my creative process and the characters/ creatures show this through their expressions and tones.

I’ve drawn all my life, taking my inspiration from my father and his drive for perfection in his own work. I find it hard not to create in some form, endlessly thinking of new ways to get my perspective and artistic energy out to the world.
