This limited edition whisky is a testament to our heritage with an ‘Odd’ nod to the solera method. A rich and unique blend of rye, single malt, maple, peated and smoked malt whiskies that have been married in our boneyard barrels from four to seven years. Several litres from this release have been saved and started in the next boneyard barrel.

The whisky itself is wonderfully complex, yet well balanced. On the palate it has notes of caramel, vanilla, orange chocolate, leather and nougat. There is a slight smoke throughout and has a dry finish.

Welcome Back Bar Manager, Mia Glanz!

 

We are thrilled to welcome Mia Glanz back from Mexico!

Mia’s been busy building and refining our cocktail list, gathering many of your favourite drinks from the past eight years. The new menu is a “Best Of” list: a compilation of contributions from all the talented bartenders we’ve had over the years, and a few new additions. Mia presents a balanced refreshing slate of bevies that is a love letter to our talented beverage community. Find old classics with new refinements, and a few surprises.

For those of you who don’t know our daughter Mia—she is a cocktail bartender, writer and photographer, you can find conducting the bar at Odd Society Spirits Thursday through Sunday. The distillery is also her laboratory where she created and now produces her namesake liqueur: Mia Amata Amaro.  Its recipe is an extension of her studies in ethnobotany and traditional aphrodisiacs at the University of British Columbia. Her cocktail training was completed in Mexico City where she worked at Jules Basement and Maison Artemisia, two of the city’s top bars. Since then she has explored almost every part of the bartender profession, including writing about alcohol and cocktails, photographing cocktails, designing syrups, cocktail kits, cocktail menus, consulting for small and large establishments, such as the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel, cocktail pairing dinners, competitions, events, pop-ups and even a few private yacht parties. Mia lives between Mexico City and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Boneyard: We saved the best for last…

Introducing Boneyard Whisky on June 3!

Boneyard is an archive of Odd Society history—a testament to our whisky heritage. With a nod to the Solera process of fractionally blending alcohol like wine and sherry in such a way that the finished product is a mixture of ages, we collected a litre of whisky from every bottling session since 2016 and saved the blend in one single cask. Rye, single malt and maple whiskies were all married together with the oldest addition being over seven years old and the youngest being four. We invite you to drink to the past and dream of the future with the release of Boneyard; a wonderfully unique, complex and rich whisky.

Boneyard will be released THURSDAY, JUNE 3 at 3pm exclusively AT THE DISTILLERY. A small allotment of bottles will be available at our online bottle shop as of Sunday, June 6 to provide those of you who are unable to visit the distillery in person an opportunity to purchase a bottle.

We are open! Our new hours are Thursday and Friday 3-10pm and Saturday 1-10pm.

We have reduced our seating and are now offering reservations to make your advance planning easier. If you prefer to stay in, our online bottle shop offers delivery and curbside pickup options as well as cross-Canada shipping.

We truly appreciate your support these past few months and continued encouragement as we reopen. We hope that you are all doing well and look forward to raising a glass when the time is right for you.

We have provided details below about what to expect when you visit us and we encourage you to follow us on Instagram for up-to-date information.

We are now taking reservations:

To reserve a spot in our cocktail lounge, visit our new reservation page on Bookenda, select your preferred date, time and the number of guests (max 6) in your group.

Due to limited seating, we can only guarantee a table for up to 2 hours. Should there be another party waiting for your table, we will let you know 30 minutes before your reserved time is up. We are unable to hold a table longer than 10 minutes. If you are running late, please call the distillery at 604-559-6745 to let us know.

• We will request and keep a record of the contact information for one person in every party for 30 days, in order to trace contact points should that become necessary as per BC requirements.
• All serving staff will be wearing face masks.
• Hand sanitizer stations will be accessible at the front door; guests will be asked to sanitize their hands before being seated. Service staff will be washing their hands after removing anything from a guest’s table. Kitchen staff will be washing their hands at least every 30 minutes.
